This hawk works great! The starlings are no longer crapping all over my door step but they now are crapping on my stairwell so I guess I need to order another Hawk. The one I currently have is posted on a wooden pole. It moves slightly in the wind and looks very real. The next one I purchase I believe I will fill it with sand, and set it on one of the steps because there is no where to mount a pole or hang it from something. I am very pleased with my purchase! If you have bird problems I would recommend purchasing one of these Hawks.

I have a crabapple tree next to my driveway, so I needed something to keep them away. After some research on American Robins, their biggest enemy was the hawk, also read they dislike snakes. I got my Bird-B-Gone Hawk from Ace Hardware (same price as one here with shipping). I hung it in the tree, and waited. I thought it worked for the first week, because it seemed like the birds were not around as much, but the one day I walk outside, and all the black birds are sitting in the tree laughing at me and my hawk! I also laid bungee cords in the tree and on the ground (to act as snakes) which also did not work. I'm trying to be nice to nature, and find ways to resolve my issues without killing any birds. My neighbor also took drastic measures and got one of the Bird-B-Gone Owls, that "hoots" and that also did not work! We both knock... Read more
